Great Lakes Adventist Academy

Dormitory Life

Great Lakes Adventist Academy has two dormitories for student occupancy. The dorm on the southern side of campus is the women's residence, and the northern side is for the men's residence. Each dormitory has weight/exercise rooms, a chapel, and resident deans. Students follow a daily schedule which includes a 7:15 a.m. chapel, scheduled classes, work, recreation from 6:15 p.m. to 7:25 p.m., dormitory worship at 7:35 p.m., and study hall from 8:00 p.m. until 9:45 p.m. in respective dorms. Students are not allowed to have radios, tape players, CD players, or the like. Complete student regulations can be found in the Student Handbook. Dormitory rooms typically have two student residents, and feature individual storage and study furniture, a shared sink and mirror, and bunkable beds. All student rooms are carpeted. Rooms have "pick guards" installed to boost room security. Students are encouraged to keep rooms locked whenever they are away from their rooms. Students have resident deans available at all times.
